Strathpine Safe Space provides support and inclusive, welcoming and supportive environment for people experiencing emotional distress. Safe Space is an alternative to arriving at an emergency department.

Guests to the space have choice and control over the supports they would like to engage in whilst visiting, including guided sensory and calming activities to help reduce distress.

Peer workers can provide support to review or create a safety plan, problem-solve and connect guests with other services.

The space is open from 5pm-9pm on weekdays and 3pm-7pm on weekends.

Our approach

Support is provided by peer workers and clinicians. Peer workers will be available to speak to and can offer support and guidance to engage in activities to reduce your distress and support safety, connection and wellness planning.

Eligibility

Everyone is welcome to visit the Safe Space during times of experiencing distress and or when you need support. There is no age limit, and no appointment is needed, but please phone first if you can, to ensure we are able to see you straight away.

If you need help getting to there, please call to discuss options.
