About Logan Crisis Support Space

The Logan Crisis Support Space provides compassionate support in a calm, home-like space to people experiencing distress.

Together, Neami and the Queensland Metro South Health and Hospital Service offer an alternative to hospital emergency departments for people experiencing a crisis.

Logan Crisis Support Space is open from 1pm to 9pm, 7 days a week.

Who is this for?

The service is free and available for people aged 16 and over who are experiencing distress and/or crisis.

Guests are referred to the service by the Logan Hospital emergency department.

Supports available

We offer a range of support options, including:

  • compassionate, non-judgmental conversations
  • support to explore and make sense of your distress
  • working together to explore new ways to recognise and manage your distress
  • collaborative planning for the next 24-72 hours
  • access to a range of resources to support you in times of distress
  • links with local services and supports

Our aim is for you to leave the Logan Crisis Support Space feeling heard, connected, and with new ways to cope and manage distress.

We also offer a follow-up phone call to check on your wellbeing 24 and 72 hours after your visit.

What to expect

The Logan Crisis Support Space (LCSS) is a welcoming place for people experiencing high levels of distress, who are feeling overwhelmed and unable to cope.

We offer a welcoming, inclusive and safe environment, and work with you to understand what will help right now. We can also connect you with other supports if needed.

The space has been designed for you to experience crisis support differently; support with empathy and compassion. We take the time to listen, understand, and offer non-judgemental support to explore your distress.

You will be supported by a Peer Worker who has their own lived experience of emotional distress. You can also speak with a clinician if needed.

For your first visit, you will be referred to the service after presenting to the Logan Hospital emergency department. After this, you can access Logan Crisis Support Space directly, without needing to visit the emergency department.
