The Mental Health and Wellbeing Local in Darebin is a free service supporting Victorians aged 26 years and over to get mental health and wellbeing support, closer to home. 

We will work with you and, if you are comfortable, your family, carers and supporters, to design a care plan that meets your goals and preferences.

All support is free, and you don’t need a Medicare card or referral from your doctor.

Who is this for?

The Mental Health and Wellbeing Local in Darebin is for all Victorians aged 26 and over to get mental health support closer to home. 

We can support support people living across the City of Darebin, including: 

• Fairfield 

• Northcote 

• Preston 

• Reservoir 

• Thornbury 

• Alphington* 

• Bundoora* 

• Kingsbury* 

• Macleod* 

*Please check your local council as some parts of these suburbs may belong to a different catchment. 

A safe place for everyone

You don’t need to be an Australian citizen or resident to access this service, and you don’t need a Medicare card. 

We can provide safe and confidential support to everyone, no matter your circumstances.

The Mental Health and Wellbeing Local in Darebin welcomes families, carers and supporters. We can provide a range of support, including: 

• education and support for families, carers and supporters of people experiencing mental health and wellbeing challenges and/or substance use or addiction 

• assistance to carers with their caring and support role 

• support for carers and loved ones with their own mental health and wellbeing needs.

The Mental Health and Wellbeing Local in Darebin accepts referrals from GPs, mental health services, community services, families, carers and supporters. We also encourage self-referral.
