Rebecca Egan
Lived Experience Researcher
Bec (she/they/we) is a qualitative Lived Experience Researcher. She is particularly interested in participatory research and evaluation where Lived Experience expertise is consistently prioritised throughout every stage of a project – from conception to implementation. She is also passionate about making research and evaluation accessible to all with Lived Experience, and therefore co-facilitates a Lived Experience Research Community of Practice. As someone who has accessed the mental health system for almost two decades, her experiences within the system are instrumental to her desire to improve it. She is particularly interested on improving the way trauma and distress are conceptualised and responded to by the mental health system. She draws on her knowledge in Lived Experience community spaces and mad studies. She is currently completing her tertiary studies in Psychology.
