I am an avid user of public transport and appreciate its attributes as a low-cost alternative to a private vehicle and promoter of incidental exercise. Although I think of public transport as an environmentally friendly option that eases road congestion, I am aware of the impact on the environment in terms of vast infrastructure, land clearing, and resource and machinery consumption.
