The Short-Term Therapy (STT) program provides free short-term therapy for people experiencing mental health challenges. The Short-Term Therapies program offers two services, including Psychological Therapies and Suicide Prevention.

What to expect
The Short-Term Therapies program offers two services, including Psychological Therapies and Suicide Prevention.
Psychological Therapies Program
The Psychological Therapies program can support you to develop skills to help manage concerns that are impacting your wellbeing.
To be eligible for Psychological Therapies, you must:
- hold a current Low Income Health Care Card, Health Care Card, Pension Card or be otherwise identified as experiencing exceptional financial difficulties
- be eligible for Medicare-funded services
- have mild to moderate mental health challenges
- live in the Northern Territory.
Suicide Prevention Service
The Suicide Prevention Service program offers intensive therapy and support following a suicidal crisis, or for those at increased risk of suicide. Support is available via this program for up to three months.
Please note that the Suicide Prevention service is not a crisis service for those at immediate risk.
This service if free for participants.
