Neami’s Wadamba Wilam program was recognised with an award for Excellence in Ending Homelessness among diverse groups by the Council to Homeless Persons at the Victorian Homelessness Conference.
Wadamba Wilam (Renew Shelter) has provided intensive outreach support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are experiencing homelessness and enduring mental illness since 2012. Wadamba Wilam is delivered in partnership with the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service (VAHS), Uniting and the Northern Area Mental Health Service (NAMHS).
“It’s highly gratifying to receive this award on behalf of Neami National and our partners and it’s a testament to the passion, dedication, and commitment of the Wadamba Wilam team to improving the Social and Emotional Wellbeing of Aboriginal Victorians. The strength and resilience of Wadamba Wilam consumers continues to inspire us every day.” Jamie Waring, Service Manager.
Earlier this year we documented in a report and webinar, Wadamba Wilam’s successful practice approach. You can read more about Wadamba Wilam, and find the practice approach report and webinar at here.
