Hear2Talk is a free over the phone service where you can get confidential support to manage feelings of stress, anxiety and burnout that are impacting your work and everyday life.
The service is open to all workers in New South Wales and is available from 12 pm to 7 pm, six days a week (Sunday - Friday).
Support from someone who understands
When you call Hear2Talk, you’ll speak with one of our skilled peer workers who have first-hand experience in managing stress, anxiety or wellbeing challenges.
They’ll take the time to listen to you and understand what you’re experiencing. They can then help you identify your strengths to build strategies for managing the challenges you face in work and life.

Follow up support
Some people find a follow up call a few days after you’ve spoken with Hear2Talk valuable. At the end of every call, we’ll ask if you’d like to hear from us again to check in and see how you’re doing.
If you would like additional support, our peer workers will connect you with other appropriate support services to continue your wellbeing.

What is the Hear2Talk service?
Hear2Talk is a free, confidential, and independent phone support line for anyone struggling with challenging emotions in the workplace, whether this is job-related stress or life stress that is bothering you at work.
Who can call the Hear2Talk service?
Anyone who works in NSW can call the Hear2Talk service.
Who answers when I call?
Hear2Talk's phone lines are answered by Peer Workers, who have first-hand experience of navigating stress in the workplace.
During your call to Hear2Talk, Peer Workers can help you to develop strategies to cope, build resilience and support you to make positive changes to improve your situation.
Can I request a call-back?
Yes. If you call outside of 12 pm – 7 pm or if we are busy attending to other calls, you can leave a voicemail for a call-back.
You can also call within the hours of 12 pm - 7 pm to schedule a time to speak with one of the Hear2Talk team for later. If you’ve had a call and would like to receive a follow up call to check-in, we can also schedule this for you.
What is follow up support?
This is an agreed time and day to follow up by phone with you to see how you are doing after your call with us. This is also an opportunity to reflect and talk through any challenges, as well as celebrate progress so far.
Can I call if I am outside of New South Wales?
Hear2Talk is funded only for NSW workers – we are happy to redirect to appropriate services if you call from outside of NSW.
How is the service funded?
Hear2Talk is funded by the NSW State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA).
Can I give feedback to the Hear2Talk service?
We welcome your feedback and offer a few different ways to provide it.
- At the end of each call, you are offered the opportunity to respond to an automated feedback survey.
- You are also invited to take part in an evaluation of the service by an external organisation where you will be interviewed by a Peer Worker.
- Other options for submitting your feedback to us.
Any feedback you give will be used to help us do better and will not affect your access to the service.
