The Cairns Community Recovery Program is a partnership model between Neami and Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS). The program provides community-based recovery-oriented support options for individuals with severe and enduring mental health issues in the Cairns and Hinterland region.
The outreach service supports those consumers leaving the residential service to make the transition back into community living. Community outreach supports each person’s recovery journey and the establishment of routines in their home while also strengthening connections to community and support networks.
BAWU Activity Program
The day program offers a range of individual support and group programs to consumers of the Community Care Unit (CCU) residential service and people living in the community, supported by the CHHHS. The groups focus on areas such as optimal health planning, education and identifying goals or aspirations for the future. The program is supported by Peer Workers, Community Rehabilitation Support Workers, a Social and Emotional Well-Being worker and allied health staff.
Referral to the Community Recovery Program is through the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service clinical services. Call the Outreach and BAWU Activity service for more information.
